Skillshares
destroy the elites! share your knowledge, share your skills!
an ongoing self-organised d.i.y. weekly workshop where participants are able to share and exchange their skills, tactics and ideas with others in an open environment. where everyone is welcome. where everyone is encouraged to ask questions and develop their political strategies. without leaders, without specialists.
every one of us has skills and knowledge’s that we use to negotiate around, and subvert, the constraints and conditions of everyday life under global capitalism. some of these we’ve developed through experience or interest, others we consider as survival tactics. all of us have various talents, passions, and strategies. we need to use them together to create the many radical political possibilities that we desire.
we are continuing the workshops (tuesdays 6pm-7.30pm, venues to be announced) which every participant will have the chance to facilitate. each session will feature some kind of presentation and interactive discussion. it’s up to you to decide what you want to contribute, the only parameters are that it needs to be applicable in some way to our various political struggles and mobilisations, and it needs to be facilitated in a manner that will not exclude or discriminate against anyone.
ideas for workshops can include, for instance, how to: crack squats, build pirate radio transmitters, talk to the media, make websites, create artistic or theatrical interventions, organise community social and political events, subvert centrelink, make videos, d.i.y. plumbing, electricity, accounting, legal, medical etc. perhaps you have some research into alternative histories or narratives you'd like to make visible, you really enjoy political texts and are keen to relate them to practice, or you can explain complex theoretical ideas. whatever it is that you’re good at, excited about, or skilled in, we want to share it!
